Ideal for mountain and off pavement

I ordered the Hycline 26" tire for the rear of my electric recumbent. While this tire is probably best suited for a mountain or off road bike due to the knobby tire pattern, it runs out fine on pavement without any detectable difference with street tires I've had on my trike. Decently priced near the middle of the pack for a folding tire. Would have been a 5 star rating if the price had been even more competitive.

I really enjoyed installing this tire on my wheel. These foldable tires are great and I love the higher psi of the tire. Rides great so far I had it on my bike for a few days now.

    good replacement tire

This review is for the Hycline folding bike tire, 26 x 1.95. I've never tried folding bike tires before, and I really am very impressed! This makes it very easy to carry spares, and while I thought they might be more difficult to install, in a way they're actually easier. Because they are not completely pre-formed into a shape like a regular tire, you just have to use a little bit different technique, but it really doesn't take any longer. By the way, these are directional tires, and there is a rotation direction indicated on the sidewall.

I've ridden these on pavement and dirt, and they do get a very good grip. Braking is definitely improved over my old tires. My riding is mainly on pavement, fairly smooth packed dirt paths, and beach bike paths that have occasional patches of sand, and on those they perform very well. These tires also have very little rolling resistance, and just look great.

    Great tire / great value

I’ve ridden on about 10 trail rides in dry and wet/muddy conditions and these tires have been great. I run them at about 29-25 psi. I like the light weight low tread design on these 1.95x26 tires which keeps them nimble. The gum walls look good on my white 98 DBR v-link.

What should I consider when choosing bicycle tires?

When selecting bicycle tires, consider the size, tread, width, durability, pressure, weight, and riding style. Choose a tire that fits your bike's wheels, is appropriate for the terrain you'll be riding on, is durable and puncture-resistant, can handle the recommended tire pressure, and matches your riding style.

What size bike tire do I need for my bike?

To determine the size of tire you need for your bike, you can look at the sidewall of your current wheel, which will have the tire size printed on it. The size will typically be expressed as a combination of numbers and letters, such as "700x23c" or "26x2.0". The first number refers to the diameter of the tire, which is measured in millimeters for metric sizes (e.g. 700) or inches for imperial sizes (e.g. 26). The second number refers to the width of the tire, also measured in millimeters or inches. The letter at the end indicates the type of tire (e.g. "c" for clincher)
If you're unsure about what size tires to get or have any doubts about compatibility, you can consult your bike's owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for advice.
