Lower pressure, smoother and much quieter for hard surface riding

Wore out the tires on my Radrunner. Only did a little bit of off-roading, but 99.999% of riding is on improved surfaces. The Kenda's that came with the bike were great, but not so good on wet surfaces.

Took a chance and ordered these. The only problem I have is even though I'm pulling a Doggie Hut trailer, people can't hear me coming. These tires are QUIET!!! But a little "On your left!" solves that problem. I like the quietness as I can hear the birds in the morning.

Traction is excellent, even on wet surfaces. Road them in the rain a few weeks back with no problems.

Soooo.. buy 'em. 120kg max carrying capacity per tire, so they work well on my cargo bike.

Much like a more expensive tire

These tires are almost exactly like a much more expensive tire I use on my Ebike "Fat Tad". The big difference is the tires I have use a wire cable to mount the tire on the rim. These folding tires are great for shipping and storage, but with fat tires they have a tendency to be difficult to mount. They don't grab well onto the rims being so flexible at 4".I plan on replacing my rear tire with this one. My rear tire is also a folding tire, but on a trike it doesn't experience much side pressure. The tires I have like this one are on the front, and they do experience a lot of side force from turning. The tread design on these tires is great for hard surfaces like groomed trails or roads. I very pleased with my current tires

Heavy durable tire!

The first thing I noticed is that these are heavy tires! They fold nicely, as advertised, but they weigh in at 5lbs according to my scale! (As opposed to my old Kenda Juggernaut Sports that were 3 lbs, and those were 26x4.5, not 4.0!). Sidewalls are thick, .115" to be exact, which is 4x the thickness of the Juggernaut! It is a very stiff sidewall!

Ride quality:

I played with air pressure in these tires to see how they reacted. These tires should be run at 20PSI, especially on dry pavement. Rolling resistance is minimal, and they are silent running. Running over a 2x4 at low speeds did not produce much bounce, but you noticed you hit something. Auto steer is not a problem at this pressure. Riding on the grass took some effort. On level ground, these tires like to maintain speed. Going downhill, these tires love to gain speed, their mass really works in your favor! Uphill, it is a little effort, but at 20psi, it really isn't that bad.

Riding these tires at lower pressure is not recommended. At 10psi, autosteer became noticeable, and going uphill is great exercise for leg day! At 5psi floataion kicks in and riding on the grass becomes a joke! However, riding on pavement becomes a chore. Autosteer becomes pronounced, and braking while turning is an adventure. There is a reason the sidewalls are stamped 20psi. That is the best pressure to run these tires at!

Puncture resistance:

I broke down some pallets, and I have a couple different nails to can put in the wood. One has a sharp point, the other has a blunt 1/8" flat point. I inflated the tires to 20psi and started running over stacks of wood. I started with the flat point first, exposing 1/4", then 1/2" and finally a full 1" of nail. This tire took all of it, both front and back! It actually bent the blunt nail down on my final test! (The first time I saw a tire flatten a nail!)

The sharp point was a little different. The tire withstood 1/4, but that was it, 1/2" and longer punctured the tire. (It did take two tries to pop the front, as there is less weight on that tire). One other note, as the tires deflated, they will come off the rim once the pressure gets low enough. Where the tires were folded during shipping seems to be the most fiddly part.

I used no tire liners or slime in the tubes. I imagine these would help things a bit!

Overall, these are solid tires. When inflated properly they handle well, and ride smoothly and silently. I will keep this set on my Gravity Bullseye Monster and play with it on the hard gravel of the Mon bike trail. I wanted to put these on my fat tire trike, but the rolling mass is a bit too much, and I want to ride them a little softer for suspension effect. These tires do not like that.

But I do believe in clean dry conditions, these tires are pretty good! In the city, these look like a nice option on a commuter and they will shrug off the odd road hazard. As advertised, they are puncture resistant, not puncture proof!

Smooth ride, Compact storage

I like how compact, quiet, flexible this Hycline RHOMBUS Fat Tire for MTB e-bike is. I could fit both e-bike tires into my back cargo bag. The softer rubber compound of this e-bike tire improves traction and is a much quieter ride than my old non-foldable knobby tires. The bead is much stronger on the new fat tires. The tire works well and rides smoothly

What should I consider when choosing bicycle tires?

When selecting bicycle tires, consider the size, tread, width, durability, pressure, weight, and riding style. Choose a tire that fits your bike's wheels, is appropriate for the terrain you'll be riding on, is durable and puncture-resistant, can handle the recommended tire pressure, and matches your riding style.

What size bike tire do I need for my bike?

To determine the size of tire you need for your bike, you can look at the sidewall of your current wheel, which will have the tire size printed on it. The size will typically be expressed as a combination of numbers and letters, such as "700x23c" or "26x2.0". The first number refers to the diameter of the tire, which is measured in millimeters for metric sizes (e.g. 700) or inches for imperial sizes (e.g. 26). The second number refers to the width of the tire, also measured in millimeters or inches. The letter at the end indicates the type of tire (e.g. "c" for clincher)
If you're unsure about what size tires to get or have any doubts about compatibility, you can consult your bike's owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for advice.
